ABOUT ABOUT

Nashville, TN – On June 29th from 6-10pm at Main Street Gallery in East Nashville, Poverty & the Arts will hold an art gala fundraiser in order to raise money for the fees for the 501(c)3 status. The event will attract a variety of art enthusiasts and homeless advocates. On the agenda for the night is a jazz band, free drinks and food, an art show, a silent auction, and testimonies from past events.

Poverty & the Arts is a community organization that is currently filing for 501(c)3 nonprofit status. It is an organization that thrives to break down class lines and empower the homeless community through the arts. Poverty & the Arts uses the arts as a means of reconciliation, believing that instead of serving the homeless, greater change happens when people create with them. Currently, the organization organizes music, visual art, and creative writing events with both Nashville college students, as well as the homeless community at Room in the Inn.
